Heilongjiang Provincial Scholarship

In order to further promote the undertakings of the education of foreign students in Heilongjiang province, the Heilongjiang provincial government has established the “Heilongjiang Provincial Scholarship” program. This program is aiming to support Heilongjiang Provincial colleges and universities designated to recruit international students who come for undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

1. The Heilongjiang Provincial Scholarship does not provide courses in Chinese learning. Applicants should have decent Chinese background. That is, Applicants should have a score of 180 in HSK (Level 5) at least.

2. Applicants applying for master’s and doctoral degrees are welcomed to choose the following majors: Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL), Economics, International Trade, Law, Tourism Management, Translation Studies, etc.

Eligibility

Conditions to apply for scholarships in Heilongjiang Provincial Scholarship:

1. The applicant for Heilongjiang Provincial Scholarship must be a healthy non-Chinese citizen. Meanwhile, The applicants are not allowed to receive other kinds of scholarships.

2. Applicants must be the students who have not studied in China now (the graduates of Chinese university must have a gap period (more than one academic year)

3. Educational background and age limits:

  • Apply for Bachelor’s degree programs: applicants must have a diploma of high school or above and be under the age of 25
  • Apply for Master’s degree programs: applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or above and be under the age of 35
  • Apply for Doctoral degree programs: applicants must have a master’s degree or above and be under the age of 40.

Details of the Scholarship

Heilongjiang Provincial Scholarship’ Details:

Heilongjiang Provincial Scholarship’ Details cover registration fees, tuition fees, fees for laboratory experiments, fees for internships, fees for books, accommodation on campus, and comprehensive medical insurance.

Heilongjiang Provincial Scholarship’ Application documents:

Applicants must faithfully fill in and submit the following application materials

You need to send two sets of paper materials (both the original one and the duplicate one ).

1. Application of Heilongjiang  Provincial Scholarship Form, completed in either Chinese or English.

2. Notarized copy of a highest diploma or prospective diploma.

They must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations

3. Academic transcripts (written in Chinese or English):

  • Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
  • If you have passed HSK or HSKK, please send your HSK transcripts, too.

4. A Study Plan or Research Proposal (written in Chinese or English): This should be a minimum of 800 words. You should sign your name at the end of the plan.

5. Two Recommendation Letters (written in Chinese or English): Applicants must submit two recommendation letters signed by a professor or an associate professor.

6. Photocopy of valid Passport (the page with your photo)

7. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (photocopy) (written in English, you could download it at the end of this document, see Appendix 2)

The physic examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.

Note:

  • All the Heilongjiang Provincial Scholarship Application documents: (both the original one and the duplicate one) need to send to “The International Student Admission Office, Institute of International Culture and Education, Heilongjiang University Heilongjiang University” before April 30.

  • Whether applicants are accepted or not, all the materials will not be returned.

  • If some materials cannot be delivered on time, please tell us.

2. Heilongjiang University is responsible for reviewing the applicant’s application materials and reporting it to the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education.

3. At the beginning of July, we will send the admission documents (Admission Letter, Registration Notice, and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202)) to scholarship recipients. The accepted students are required to register at the time stated in the Admission Notice.
