1. About Wuhan University of Technology

Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) is a public university in Wuhan, Hubei. The university is sponsored by the Ministry of Education.

The university is a Project 211 institute and a Double First Class University of the Double First Class University Plan.

WUT was merged on May 27th, 2000, from the former Wuhan University of Technology (established in 1948), Wuhan Transportation University (established in 1946) and Wuhan Automotive Polytechnic University (established in 1958).

2. Friendship Scholarship for International Students

Content and standard:

In order to promote the cultural, educational and scientific exchanges with domestic and foreign institutions, WUT sponsors the Friendship Scholarship for self-supported International Students who have studied at the University over one academic year for bachelor, master or doctor degree if their performance in both study and behavior are demonstrated more excellent than their peer students.

2） 50% Tuition Discount for Second Friendship Scholarship winner

3） 30% Tuition Discount for Third Friendship Scholarship winner

4. Applicants Qualification

Wuhan University of Technology

Applicants Qualification:

1） Application should be submitted along with Annual Review Form by those self-sponsored students after studying at WUT over one academic year.

2） Any applicant with a poor record in each semester of unreasonable absence from the class over 20 teaching hours, failure in examination and/or delayed payment and/or late entrance to dormitory shall lose the qualification.

3） Those applicants whose average score of all passed courses during the annual review period is ranked Top 3 among their peer students registered in the same year for the same level of degree in the same field of discipline could be considered as initial candidates.

4） The initial candidates shall be informed to submit their average score before September 30th of all uncalculated courses in Spring Semester for the purpose to confirm whether they are still ranked among Top 3 to be qualified for the final candidates.

5） Those candidates whose average score over 80 is ranked No. 1 among their peer students registered in the same year for the same level of degree in the same field of discipline might be awarded First Scholarship of Free Tuition;

6） Those candidates whose average score over 75 is ranked No. 2 among their peer students registered in the same year for the same level of degree in the same field of discipline might be awarded Second Scholarship of 50% Discount of Tuition;

7） Those candidates whose average score over 75 is ranked No. 3 among their peer students registered in the same year for the same level of degree in the same field of discipline might be awarded Third Scholarship of 30% Discount of Tuition

5. Application Deadline:

Before May 31th per year

6. Application procedure

1） Application should be submitted along with Annual Review Form and annual transcripts before every May 31st by those self-sponsored students after studying at WUT over one academic year for bachelor, master or doctoral degree.

2） Any applicant with a poor record in each semester of unreasonable absence from the class over 20 teaching hours, failure in examination and/or delayed payment shall lose the qualification.

5） The final candidates shall be formally approved as the Friendship Scholarship Holder during that ACADEMIC YEAR when the official documents are issued by the University.
