2023 International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

I. ELIGIBILITY

a) Non-Chinese citizens

b) No criminal record and abiding by the laws and regulations of China and the rules and regulations of Hubei University

c) In good physical and mental conditions with good academic and performance

d) Interested in Chinese language education and related fields

e) Between the ages from 16 and 35 (as of September 1, 2023)

f) Under the age of 45 for applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers

II. SCHOLARSHIP TYPES AND QUALIFICATION

Scholarship   for Master’s Degree in International Chinese Language Education	Admission   Date: September 2023Duration: 2   academic yearsA Bachelor’s   degree holdersHSK (Level   5) 210 points and HSKK (Intermediate) 60 points or abovePriority   given to those who provide a work contract with a teaching institution or a   proof to the same effect.
Scholarship   for One-Year Study Program	Admission   Date: September 2023Duration:   11 monthsNot   eligible for applicants who have benefited from similar scholarships.TCSOL: HSK   (Level 3) 270 points or above and HSKK scoreChinese Language,   History and Philosophy: HSK (Level 4) 180 points and HSKK (Intermediate   Level) 60 points or aboveChinese   Language Study:HSK (Level   3) 210 points or abovePriority   given to those who provide HSKK score
Scholarship   for One-semester Study Program	Admission   Date: September 2023 or March 2024Duration: 5   monthsNot   eligible for applicants holding the X1 or X2 visaTCSOL,   Chinese Language，History and Philosophy:HSK (Level   3) 180 points or above with HSKK scoreTaiji   Culture:HSK scorePriority   given to those who provide HSKK score
Scholarship   for Four-Week Study	Admission   Date: July or December, 2023Duration: 4   weeksNot   eligible for applicants holding the X1 or X2 visaChinese   Language, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Taiji Culture, or Chinese Language+Homestay   with a Chinese family:HSK score

III. APPLICATION DEADLINE (Beijing Time)

a) For the programs commencing in July: April 1st

b) For the programs commencing in September: May 1st

c) For the programs commencing in December: September 1st

d) For the programs commencing in March 2024: November 1st

IV. COVERAGE AND CRITERIA

a) Full scholarship covering tuition fees, living allowances (not for Four-Week Study)，accommodation fees, comprehensive medical insurance expenses

b) Monthly living allowances

• For MTCSOL: 3,000CNY per month
• For One-Academic-Year and One-Semester Study: 2,500CNY per month

V. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS

1. A scanned copy of the passport photo page
2. A scanned copy of score reports of the HSK HSKK tests (valid for two years)
3. A reference letter by the head of the recommending institution (Please contact Confucius Institutes or Hubei University)
4. A certificate of the Bachelor Degree diploma (or proof of expected graduation) and an official transcript (only for MTCSOL applicants)
5. Two reference letters from professors or associate professors. Priority will be given to applicants who may provide an work contract with a teaching institution (only for MTCSOL applicants)
6. The proof of employment and a reference letter from the employer (only for in-service Chinese language teachers)
7. Applicants who have received the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Certificate during Chinese Bridge competitions may submit the application documents along with their scholarship certificates
