Introduction to Renmin University of China

Renmin University of China is the first comprehensive research university established by the People’s Republic of China. Its predecessor was Shanbei Public School, founded in 1937. Many Chinese heads of state have paid close attention to RUC’s development. Each has visited RUC’s campus and delivered speeches or written inscriptions for the university. Since Renmin University of China was established, more than 250,000 outstanding RUC alumini have made important contributions in various sectors including government, academia, finance, communication and education.

Renmin University of China is a comprehensive research-oriented university focusing on humanities and social sciences. It also offers a range of courses in the natural sciences, information technology and environmental sciences. The university’s overriding tasks have consistently been the pursuit of truth and progress, cultural transmission and educating the country’s future elites. RUC is an important base for training high-caliber professionals in the social sciences and humanities and houses a number of influential research centers and think tanks.

This program sponsors the currently enrolled master students from foreign universities to study in China, participate in a joint research program, and write their dissertations 

Who can apply?

The International Confucian Association Scholars Program (master degree) is launched by the International Confucian Association (hereinafter referred to as ICA). This program sponsors master degree students who are enrolled into Renmin University of China (hereinafter referred to as RUC) in 2022.

Support Duration

The program does not cover Chinese language preparatory year or foundation courses.

The support duration is consistent with the basic study duration of the major program.

Eligibility

Requirements on nationality

• The applicant must be a citizen of a country other than the PRC and in good health both mentally and physically;

Requirements on degree and age

• The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 25

Limit application

The applicant cannot acquire other scholarship sponsored by the Chinese government

Application documents and other requirements

The applicant shall fulfill the requirements of RUC and submit the application documents as required.

Application Procedures

Step 1

1. The applicant shall log in the Online Application System for International Students of RUC (hereinafter referred to as OASIS, link: https: ^iiiicrnaiional.inc.cdii.cn ), submit the online application and upload the application documents, and pay the application fee (CNY 800);

Step 2

1. The university will view the applicant as self-supported and start the admission procedures, including reviewing the application documents and examining the

The university will carry out a comprehensive evaluation on the applicants who have submitted their applications, after which a recommendation list will be formed and submitted to the International Confucian Association

1. The International Confucian Association will finalize the admission list, after which the university will send the Admission Notice as well as other admission documents to the admitted

Matters Needing Attention

To avoid disqualification

Applicants who are supported by the International Confucian Association shall not be supported by other scholarships offered by the Chinese government. Once discovered, the support will be canceled, and they must return the stipends given.

1. Those who intentionally conceal other scholarship supports will be disqualified for ICA scholars program application

For comparative jurisprudence major

1. Applicants who apply for comparative jurisprudence major must submit HSK and HSKK reports as required by the enrollment guide and cannot apply for exemption under any conditions.
